2. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing raedia.dev, requesting a trial, creating an account, completing checkout, or installing or using Raedia software, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site or the software.
If you purchase on behalf of a company or organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that entity. “You” means the individual or the entity you represent.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes affecting paid subscribers will be communicated by email where reasonably practicable.
3. Description of goods and/or services
CODEXA SOFTWARE (Pty) Ltd is a software business in the live visuals / media-server industry. We develop and licence Raedia — a GPU-native Windows application for live visuals, VJ mixing, projection mapping and LED-wall control (Display · Map · Control).
What you buy or trial is a software licence (and related digital services), not a physical product. Typical inclusions, depending on plan:
- Download of the Windows installer / application build made available for your entitlement
- A licence key or entitlement that activates the software for a defined period and seat count
- Access to features associated with your tier (for example core compositing and mapping; Pro tiers may include additional I/O features such as NDI / Spout where advertised)
- Email support during an active paid subscription or valid trial, on a commercially reasonable basis
Raedia is currently offered in beta / early access. Features, packaging and documentation may change as the product matures. Marketing pages describe the product as shipped for early access; they do not promise feature parity with third-party enterprise media servers.
4. Packages & pricing
Raedia is sold as subscription licences (monthly or yearly) plus a free trial. List prices below are the current published catalogue amounts in South African Rand (ZAR) and United States Dollars (USD). The amount shown at checkout is the amount you authorise and pay. Prices may be updated; currency at checkout depends on the payment path offered to you.
| Package | What you get | Billing | List price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trial | One seat · core features · unbound trial key for evaluation. Requested via raedia.dev/beta. Not a paid plan. | Once · 7 days | R0 / $0 |
| Single — monthly | One seat · Starter / core licence for ongoing use on an entitled machine or user seat as issued. | Monthly subscription | R750 / $42 |
| Single — yearly | Same Single entitlement, billed annually. | Yearly subscription | R8 999 / $499 |
| Pro — monthly | Pro tier · expanded seat entitlement and Pro feature set (including NDI / Spout where enabled for that build). | Monthly subscription | R1 250 / $69 |
| Pro — yearly | Same Pro entitlement, billed annually. | Yearly subscription | R15 000 / $829 |
Team / multi-venue packages may be offered later; they are not currently on the active public catalogue unless listed at checkout.
Taxes
Prices may be shown exclusive or inclusive of VAT or other taxes depending on your location and the payment provider’s tax settings. Any tax calculated at checkout forms part of the total payable. If you require a tax invoice, request one from [email protected] with your payment reference and billing details.
5. Payment methods — Stripe and PayFast
We accept payment for Raedia licences through one or both of the following processors, depending on your region and the checkout path presented to you:
5.1 Stripe
- Stripe, Inc. / Stripe Payments entities process card and other methods enabled on our Stripe account.
- Typical use: international cards and subscription billing managed via Stripe Checkout or Billing.
- When you pay with Stripe, you also agree to Stripe’s terms and privacy notices available at stripe.com/legal.
- Card details are entered on Stripe-hosted or Stripe-secured fields. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current plan price unless cancelled before the renewal date (see Cancellation).
5.2 PayFast (Network International)
- PayFast by Network International is used for South African and other markets where that checkout is offered (cards, Instant EFT and other methods PayFast enables on our merchant account).
- When you pay with PayFast, you also agree to PayFast’s customer terms available via payfast.io.
- Payment data is handled by PayFast. We do not receive or store your full card number.
- Successful payment is confirmed by PayFast’s return / notify (ITN) process. Your licence is issued or extended only after we receive confirmed successful payment status.
5.3 Authorisation & failed payments
By completing checkout you authorise the selected processor to charge the displayed total. If a payment fails, is reversed, or a chargeback is raised, we may suspend or revoke the associated licence until the matter is resolved. You remain responsible for amounts owed for the period the software was made available to you, subject to applicable law.
We do not accept cash, cheque, or bank deposit as standard public checkout methods unless we agree in writing for a specific invoice.
6. Delivery policy (digital goods)
Raedia is delivered electronically. There is no physical shipment and no courier or postal charge.
- Trials: after a valid request (and any email verification step we require), we email a trial licence key and download instructions to the address you provide, usually within minutes and in any event within 24 hours on business days. Check spam / junk folders.
- Paid licences: subject to successful payment confirmation from Stripe or PayFast, we process your order and deliver licence credentials and download access by email (and/or via your customer portal if enabled) within 24 hours, typically immediately after confirmation.
- Delivery is confirmed by the email containing your key / entitlement and by successful activation in the application where applicable.
- You are responsible for providing a working email address and for installing the software on a compatible Windows system that meets the published requirements.
If you do not receive delivery within 24 hours of confirmed payment, contact [email protected] with your full name, email used at checkout, approximate payment time, and payment reference / transaction ID from Stripe or PayFast.
Export / availability
Raedia is offered internationally where payment and licensing allow. We may refuse or restrict sales where required by law, sanctions, or risk policy. The software is licensed for use subject to South African law and any export controls that apply to you.
7. Return and refunds policy
Because Raedia is digital software delivered by electronic means, the following refund rules apply. This policy is intended to be fair and clear for cardholders and for PayFast / scheme merchant requirements.
7.1 Free trial
The 7-day trial is free of charge. No payment is taken for a standard trial key. There is nothing to refund for a trial itself.
7.2 Non-delivery or failed activation
If we fail to deliver a paid licence within 24 hours of confirmed successful payment, or the licence cannot be activated due to a fault on our side, you are entitled to a full refund of the amount paid for that order. Contact us within 14 days of payment. We will refund within 30 days of approving the claim, via the original payment method where the processor allows.
7.3 Change of mind / buyer’s remorse
Once a paid licence key or entitlement has been delivered and the download made available, change-of-mind refunds are not offered for digital licences, except where South African consumer law (including the Consumer Protection Act, 2008) gives you a non-excludable right. If such a right applies, we will honour it.
If you cancel a subscription before the first renewal and you have not used the software beyond a reasonable evaluation consistent with the free trial, you may request a goodwill review by email — we decide these case by case.
7.4 Subscription renewals
Renewal charges for monthly or yearly plans are refundable only if:
- you cancel and request a refund within 7 days of the renewal charge, and
- you have not continued to use the software after that renewal in a material way, and
- we can reverse or refund via Stripe or PayFast for that transaction.
Otherwise, cancel before the next renewal to stop future charges (see Cancellation). We do not prorate unused days on monthly plans unless required by law or agreed in writing.
7.5 Defective service
If Raedia is materially unfit for the ordinary purpose of a media-server application on supported Windows hardware due to a defect we can reproduce, and we cannot provide a fix or reasonable workaround within a reasonable time after you report it, you may request a refund or credit for the then-current billing period. Beta limitations (section 10) are disclosed up front and do not by themselves constitute a defect.
7.6 Chargebacks & abuse
Please contact us before raising a chargeback. Unwarranted chargebacks may result in immediate licence revocation. Refunds will not exceed the original transaction amount and, where processed by PayFast or Stripe, are returned to the original payment instrument in line with that provider’s rules. We may issue a refund receipt by email.
7.7 How to request a refund
Email [email protected] with subject “Refund request”, your full name, email, package, payment date, amount, Stripe or PayFast reference, and reason. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
8. Cancellation and renewals
- Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically until cancelled.
- Cancel via the billing portal link in your receipt email, via your Stripe customer portal (if provided), or by emailing [email protected] before the renewal date.
- Cancellation stops future renewals. Access continues until the end of the period already paid, unless we agree otherwise or revoke for breach.
- We may change prices on renewal with notice by email or on-site notice where practicable. If you do not accept a new price, cancel before renewal.
9. Licence grant and acceptable use
Subject to these Terms and timely payment (or a valid trial), we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Raedia on the number of seats / machines allowed by your plan, solely for your internal live production, rehearsal, installation or personal creative use.
You must not:
- share, sell, rent, sublicence or publicly redistribute licence keys;
- circumvent licence checks, seat limits, or copy protection;
- reverse engineer the software except to the extent permitted by mandatory law;
- use Raedia to infringe others’ IP, or for unlawful content or activity;
- attack, overload or abuse our licensing, download or website infrastructure.
All intellectual property in Raedia and this website remains with CODEXA SOFTWARE (Pty) Ltd and its licensors. No ownership passes to you — only the licence described here.
10. Beta / early access disclaimer
During beta and early access, Raedia is provided “as is” for evaluation and early production use. You acknowledge that:
- bugs, crashes, incomplete features and breaking changes may occur;
- you should keep backups of show files and critical media;
- we may reset entitlements, rotate keys, or require updates;
- uptime of ancillary services (licence validation, download mirrors, email) is not guaranteed at enterprise SLA levels unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.
11. Customer privacy policy
We process personal information in line with the South African Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and, where applicable, other privacy laws.
What we collect
- Identity and contact data you submit (name, email, role, country, messages)
- Billing identity and transaction metadata from Stripe or PayFast (we do not store full card PANs)
- Licence / device entitlement data needed to issue and validate keys
- Basic technical logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and abuse prevention
- Email engagement related to transactional mail (trial keys, receipts, service notices)
Why we use it
- To provide trials, licences, downloads and support
- To take and confirm payment and prevent fraud
- To meet legal, tax and accounting duties
- To send service communications; marketing only where you opt in or as otherwise allowed by law (you may unsubscribe)
Sharing
We share data with processors who help us run the service, including Stripe, PayFast, email delivery providers, hosting (e.g. Cloudflare), and our operations systems. They may only process data on our instructions and under appropriate agreements. We do not sell your personal information.
Retention & your rights
We keep records as long as needed for the licence relationship, dispute handling and legal retention. You may request access, correction or deletion (subject to legal exceptions) by emailing [email protected]. You may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) if you believe we have mishandled your information.
Cookies
The marketing site is primarily static. Essential cookies or similar technologies may be set by Cloudflare or embedded processors at checkout. We do not run invasive third-party advertising trackers on raedia.dev as of the date above.
12. Payment security
Card payments are processed by Stripe and/or PayFast, which maintain PCI DSS compliant environments for card data. Checkout pages are served over HTTPS. Never email full card numbers to us. If you suspect unauthorised use of your payment method in connection with Raedia, contact your bank and email us immediately.
13. Warranties and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Raedia and related services are provided without warranties of uninterrupted operation, merchantability or fitness for a particular show, venue or broadcast. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for gross negligence or fraudulent misrepresentation where such exclusion is void.
Subject to that, our total aggregate liability arising out of any paid order is limited to the amount you paid us for that order in the three (3) months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special or lost-profit damages, lost shows, reputational harm, or loss of data, except where mandatory law says otherwise.
14. Governing law, disputes & contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Courts of South Africa have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any non-excludable consumer rights you may have in your place of residence.
